IH Chiang Mai’s Teacher Club

Upcoming Teacher’s Club

Dealing with Language Inaccuracies

by Adam Bejsovec

Outline:  This time we will consider when we need to intervene, correct, and how. We will also discuss how much of the correction can be left on and done by our learners. The attitude to incorrect language use in the class has been changing.  Our learners have different expectations. Similarly, many teachers have fairly different views, attitudes and approaches. All this makes it a bit more complicated than it might seem at first. This will be again a very practical session with a lot of useful ideas, activities and techniques (focused on error-correction) to take away and use. Come, share and learn!

Teaching Mixed Ability Classes

by Adam Bejsovec

Outline:  This time we will consider how to plan for and teach in classes where there are significant differences in level, age, aptitude, motivation etc. as it is essential that all learners can achieve, are appropriately challenged and make progress. It is relatively common that groups are less homogenous than we would like them to be, and while variety is great, it is not always easy to make the lesson highly effective for every single learner. This will be again a very practical session with a lot of useful ideas, activities and techniques to take away and use. Come, share and learn!

When: Friday 31st March 2017

Time: 17:30 – 19:00

Cost: 200 baht, which includes:

  • Session notes
  • Session activities
  • Certificate of attendance

The activities we will share are suitable for teenagers and adults and can be used in different lesson contexts. This will be a very practical session with lots of useful ideas and activities to take away and use. Come, share and learn!
